2024 SUNCOAST CHAPTER SCHOLARSHIPS
The Suncoast Chapter Scholarship Committee interviewed Suncoast Regional students in Broadcasting and Television in April 2024. Thirteen students were awarded scholarships, including Billie Brightman, from the University of Miami, who was awarded the prestigious Bob Behrens Scholarship. The annual recognition is given to individuals who have worked with distinction in the television industry within the Suncoast Region, which includes the State of Florida, the State of Louisiana, the Mobile, Alabama-Pensacola, Florida television markets, as well as Puerto Rico. Pembroke Pines, FL (March 2024) – The Suncoast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences is pleased to announce the 2024 Gold Circle honoree, Hank Tester. The Gold Circle recognizes individuals who have worked with distinction in the television industry within the Suncoast region of the State of Florida, the State of Louisiana, the Mobile, Alabama – Pensacola, Florida television market and/or the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico for fifty years or more. This recognition will be given at the 2024 Suncoast Emmy® Awards on Saturday, December 7th at the Hyatt Regency Orlando. Read more.

THE 2024 GOVERNORS’ AWARD RECIPIENT
Pembroke Pines, FL (March 2024) – The Suncoast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences is pleased to announce the 2024 Governors’ Award recipient, Bert Medina. The Governors’ Award recognizes excellence in people, cable, media and/or television entities. It is not given every year. The candidate must receive a favorable vote of no less than 4/5th of the Board. It recognizes those persons, or entities who would not otherwise be eligible to win a Suncoast Regional EMMY® Award but are worthy of recognition for the quality of their contributions to the Suncoast region. This award will be given at the 2024 Suncoast Emmy® Awards on Saturday, December 7th at the Hyatt Regency Orlando. Read more.
