OMAR DELGADO

Educational Technology Specialist, CCNN Live

Omar Delgado has been teaching Broadcast Journalism for 16 years. His program CCNN Live has become a nationally recognized organization under his leadership. Several other programs around the state and nation have taken note. He has been invited to host STN’s podcast and teach a seminar at the Florida Scholastic Press Association. These workshops are primarily intended to share what Mr. Delgado has learned through his involvement in many organizations and how others can use these techniques to become better teachers. It is a great honor for him since his background was not originally in television production. He started off as a history teacher and was offered to teach TV production because the former teacher had retired.

In 2013, Omar was named Teacher of the Year at Christopher Columbus High School for his unique, hands-on teaching methods. He also was awarded FSPA Teacher of the Year in 2021, and the STN Teacher of the Year in 2022.
